posted by Olav Tvedt on May 10, 2010 14:40 as Lectures and courses

If you go to this link http://www.microsoft.com/events/vlabs/default.mspx you can select between a big bunch of free labs.

There is labs for IT Pro, developers, and business decision makers. You can select from scripting to System Center family. And most of the products have alot of under menues. Like System Center, where you will find
Sccm, Scom, Scdpm, App-V and Sce. And they again have lots of underlaying labs to select from.

One thing to remember that all the labs also gives you the opertunity to download the lab manual as a PDF file insted of just using the small field next to the lab screen.

Good labing

A short and easy guide, giving good head points on how to deal with applications in a Migration from XP senario. Although most of you are not in the size of Intel, there are alot of great tips here.

To se the guide go to this link here

Good points to take are the use of ACT. You will soon see that the list are getting shorter. The path to the application will also in many cases revel if its something you can remove. One final ...

The System Center Configuration Manager team would like to announce that the following has been released and available for download:

Configuration Manager 2007 R3 Beta

This is the official Beta release for Configuration Manager 2007 R3.

Yesterday at the Microsoft Management Summit, Brad Anderson announced during his keynote the release of ConfigMgr07 R3 Beta.  Show hidden hidden devices in device manager

posted by Olav Tvedt on April 14, 2010 14:33 as General

Back in the "old" days there was a registry setting to show all hidden devices in device manager
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Environment]
Just add "DEVMGR_SHOW_NONPRESENT_DEVICES" as a REG_SZ (String Value) with valuve 1

You have to use this to show devices that was not shown even after turning the "View - Show Hidden Devices" on.
So no, its not a typo in the title, its to show hidden hidden devices

Yesterday I got a great tips, that makes it posible to do the same thing with out addning registry setings.
How to use it can be found at this Microsoft articel here

But its quit easy to do it, just start a command prompt and type in this 2 lines (followed by enter ;-):

      set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1
     devmgmt.msc

And be sure to turn on the "Show Hidden Devices" under the view menu

BUT!!!! Be aware that some ...
